Also, talking with the owner, Adele, New Yorker and resident of Mérida, is refreshing and her passion for art is contagious. “I have been a modern art collector for many years, and when I saw this house on Calle 60, I took the opportunity to remodel it, always thinking of opening a gallery.”

Soho Galleries began 8 years ago as a cozy art space, a jewel that delights visitors with the creative selection of different styles and techniques used by the artists. The gallery presents four or five exhibitions of original and affordable art, with packed opening nights because of the atmosphere and the presence of the artists, allowing visitors to learn first-hand about their work. Plus each piece that is exhibited has its own story and particular meaning.

Currently you can enjoy the exhibition “Open Borders, Fronteras Abiertas,” that brings together artists from the USA, México, Cuba, and Canada under the vision that art knows no boundaries, just the opposite: it transcends and unites more than any wall that could exist. The 63 pieces show different pictorial styles and mixed techniques, with themes that will make you stop and think.

All the works are for sale at affordable prices, as Adele has always tried to bring everyone closer to art, whether foreigners, locals or visitors who enter the gallery and fall in love with a piece and decide to take it home.
